About Kalipso
Compliance breaks at the seam between law and operations
A new rule lands. Someone has to interpret it, map it to the business, find the gap in existing policies, fix it, assign ownership and prove it later. Today that work is done by hand, across disconnected tools — if any — with no single system holding it together.
Kalipso is a Barcelona-based platform built by lawyers and engineers to own that seam: to take an organisation from regulatory change to implemented policies, controls and procedures inside a single system.
Why we started Kalipso
The hardest part of compliance is not interpreting the law. It’s implementing it — and almost nobody building in this space has stood on both sides of that line.
Our founders have. As a lawyer embedded in engineering at Klarna, our CEO watched the handoffs between legal and operations fail in real time. Most tools on the market are built either by lawyers who can’t engineer or by engineers who don’t understand the law. We didn’t abstract this problem — we lived it, and we built the system we couldn’t buy.
“Teams don’t need another alert feed or another long report. They need infrastructure that turns regulation into action — and the peace of mind of knowing they are compliant.”
What we build
Kalipso is one continuous workflow that operationalises regulatory change. It continuously analyses regulatory developments, identifies which obligations apply to your organisation, surfaces the gaps in your existing frameworks, and generates implementation-ready fixes — with full source traceability, so every recommendation links directly to the underlying requirement.
By bringing monitoring, remediation, ownership and audit into a single environment, in-house legal and compliance teams move beyond reactive management towards continuous regulatory oversight.
“Every AI-generated sentence needs a source. That comes from our legal training — at university you back every statement with a citation and a footnote. We hold the platform to the same standard.”
The team
Founders who understand both the law and the engineering, building for a sector they know from the inside.

Built by both sides
Most tools in this space are built by lawyers who can’t engineer, or engineers who don’t understand the law. Kalipso is built by people who are both — we lived this problem before we built for it.
Evidence over noise
Every recommendation is linked directly to the underlying regulatory requirement and logged. Your programme is defensible, not approximate — and not another alert feed or long report.
European by design
Deep coverage of the EU rulebook and the jurisdictions our customers operate in. ISO/IEC 27001 certified, with all data on European sovereign cloud infrastructure.
